Cancellation Policy

  • With 24 hours' notice or more prior to an agreed lesson, the student can cancel at no cost.

  • With less than 24 hours' notice prior to an agreed lesson, the student can cancel at no cost if there are mitigating circumstances. Examples include medical emergencies or family bereavements.

  • Any students who inform me of having flu/cold symptoms with less than 24 hours' notice will be offered a lesson reschedule for the same week or the week after. Lesson reschedules can be held any day of the week, and I will guarantee some availability. This applies for any other minor medical issues. If the reschedule is not taken up, the student will be charged. In the case of very frequent lesson reschedules due to minor medical issues with less than 24 hours' notice, the student and I will discuss alternative ways to carry on with the lessons going forward. This is to mitigate the effects of a difficult circumstance that is neither my fault or the student's.

  • With less than 24 hours' notice prior to an agreed lesson and no mitigating circumstances, the student will pay the full fee. At my discretion I will occasionally be able to offer a reschedule for the week that the agreed lesson was cancelled at no extra cost. I will take into consideration any potential reschedules that I may ask for in the future that affect a particular student's usual slot time. However, any lesson reschedule requests from me will be kept to no more than a handful per year.

  • For students who pay block lessons, the above points apply; I will keep the affected lesson fee if the student cancels last minute and if I don't reschedule their lesson.

  • Upon written evidence of scheduling the second lesson onwards, the cancellation policy applies.

  • The aim of the cancellation policy is to make everyone's lesson experience fair and to encourage respecting each other's time and resources. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have further questions.
